A Milestone Recognition to Accelerate
CeLLife Technologies Ltd, a pioneering deep-tech spin-off from Tampere University specializing in ultra-fast battery cell diagnostics, has been awarded a €2.5 million grant and access to up to €6 million in co-investment under the prestigious European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator programme.
This milestone positions CeLLife among Europe’s most promising deep-tech scale-ups, advancing breakthrough innovations that drive both industrial impact and sustainability.
Transforming Battery Diagnostics
At the heart of CeLLife’s innovation is the Electrical Fingerprint (EFP™) platform, an ultra-fast, AI-powered solution that analyzes thousands of data points in seconds.
By delivering precise insights into battery cell performance, EFP™ enables manufacturers and recyclers to reduce scrap rates, prevent early failures, and extend lifecycle value. This breakthrough supports both industrial efficiency and circular economy objectives, aligning with Europe’s strategic push toward cleaner, more resilient energy systems.
Strategic Growth Ahead
With EIC backing, CeLLife is accelerating its commercialization roadmap, expanding partnerships across the battery value chain, and scaling operations to meet growing global demand. The company will strengthen its expert team in AI, hardware, and manufacturing, with a focus on growth in European, North American, and Asian markets.
Leadership Comments
“This EIC recognition is a powerful validation of our vision and technology,” said Roni Luhtala, Co-Founder & CEO of CeLLife. “It enables us to accelerate growth and bring our diagnostics platform to customers seeking smarter, more sustainable battery solutions.
“CeLLife stands at the intersection of deep-tech innovation and industrial need,” added Marko Tulonen, Chairperson & Co-Founder. “With this support, we can deliver real value to manufacturers and recyclers worldwide while contributing to Europe’s technological sovereignty.”
